Unified desktop shell
A single desktop app opens Workspace, Mail, Suite, Chat/Meet, Calendar, Contacts, Sync Queue, and Settings, using consistent GoOfficePH branding and responsive layouts for desktop and smaller windows.
Desktop apps
The Desktop Groupware app is a managed GoOfficePH client for Mail, Suite, Chat/Meet, Calendar, and Contacts. It is built for users who need a native desktop workspace, local continuity during poor connectivity, and a clear sync path back to GoOfficePH when the connection returns.
Capability scan
The current Desktop Groupware package includes a native desktop shell with GoOfficePH branding, local cache, offline queueing, account enforcement, activation-code support, and provider-confirmed sync workflows for the core groupware apps.
A single desktop app opens Workspace, Mail, Suite, Chat/Meet, Calendar, Contacts, Sync Queue, and Settings, using consistent GoOfficePH branding and responsive layouts for desktop and smaller windows.
The app connects to a GoOfficePH account, registers a desktop device identity, checks Groupware entitlement, and supports staff-issued activation codes for duration-limited access.
Managed features such as Mail, Suite editing and sync, Calendar, Contacts, and authenticated Chat/Meet room actions are gated by active access. Guest Chat/Meet links remain usable for invited guests.
Mail previews and draft actions are cached locally. Drafts created offline are queued and sent to GoOfficePH sync workers when the app is online and the account is entitled.
Users can stage local files, create OpenDocument files, and hand documents to the online GoOfficePH Suite editor. Full offline editing is identified as a future packaged ODF-engine milestone, not misrepresented as complete.
Room state and messages can be cached, queued, and handed to the GoOfficePH Chat API. Voice and video meetings use GoOfficePH-approved LiveKit sessions, while guest invite links stay room-limited.
Calendar events can be created locally and replayed through GoOfficePH sync APIs, giving field teams a safer way to capture work even when connectivity is unreliable.
Contacts can be cached and staged locally, then synchronized through GoOfficePH when online so address-book changes remain part of the managed workspace.
The Sync Queue shows whether work is queued, syncing, complete, locked, failed, or pending upstream provider confirmation. Support diagnostics can be exported for troubleshooting.
Server-side workers keep checking actions after initial acceptance until Stalwart, Files, Chat/Meet, or future providers confirm completion, reducing ambiguity for offline work.
Files already available locally remain readable even if desktop entitlement lapses. Actions that require cloud services clearly wait for GoOfficePH connectivity and authorization.
The desktop codebase is designed to support macOS, Linux, and Windows builds with one GoOfficePH API contract, preserving portability while keeping provider-specific logic server-side.
Operational value
For LGUs, schools, regional offices, field personnel, and SMEs with uneven connectivity, the desktop app creates a practical continuity layer. Users can stage work locally, see what is waiting to sync, and return to governed GoOfficePH services when connectivity is restored.
